€50.00

Becoming a County Sligo Great War Memorial Name Benefactor is a uniquely personal opportunity for Sligo people, for families and communities to reach into the past and link with the names of those lost to the county in The Great War 1914 -1918.

  1. First chose the person you wish to become Name Benefactor for. (Click HERE to view the Memorial Names page )

  2. Click on the Become a Benefactor button below and follow the simple checkout steps

  3. You will be asked to include your chosen name as you go through the checkout process.

  4. If you leave this blank we will allocate a name to you.

  5. If you wish to remain anonymous simply type anonymous in the Special Instructions box. (See Additional Information below for how Anonymous donations are acknowledged).

Our target is that each of individuals from County Sligo who died as a result of the Great War 1914-1918 will have a memorial benefactor, someone who will have stood in support of that persons memory, by contributing to the realisation of the Memorial Garden.

Your support as a Name Benefactor will be clearly acknowledged on our Benefactors page, alongside the memorial name allocated to you, and you will receive a cordial invitation to attend the opening reception of the Memorial Garden upon its completion.

All funds raised through this Name Benefactors Campaign will go entirely to the completion of The County Sligo Great War Memorial Garden.

Some Additional Information:

  • If you wish to support someone from a particular town-land or area of Sligo town without necessarily specifying a particular individual please also state this in the “Submit Name” section. eg “I wish to be a benefactor to a name from Templeboy”.

  • If you wish for your support to remain anonymous PLEASE STATE THIS CLEARLY in the “Special Request” section. We will allocate a name to you but that name will be detailed with “anonymous benefactor” on the benefactors page. We will inform you by email which name on the memorial we have associated your contribution with.

  • Upon receipt of your donation, you will be contacted directly confirming the name of an individual your benefactor donation will be associated with. We can also provide any relevant information we have available in relation to their involvement in the Great War.

  • Your name will be included as a County Sligo Great War Memorial Name Benefactor on this website, alongside the name you have been allocated on our Benefactors Page.

  • With the exception of our funding partners, all Benefactors will be acknowledged through this website, in Social Media and through printed Memorial campaign material only, and not at the Memorial Garden Site. This is to ensure that the integrity and serenity of the Memorial itself is safeguarded.
