Today we remember those from Sligo who died on September 3rd during The Great War 1914 - 1918.

  • 1915: John McSherry, Ahamlish.

  • 1916: Thomas Callaghan, 32 Gallows Hill North, Sligo.

  • 1916: John Muldoon, Ballymote.

  • 1916: Thomas Mulligan, Gurteen.

  • 1916: John P.Murphy, Queen St., Sligo

  • 1916: Michael Ward, Pound St., Sligo

  • 1916: Felix Waters, Lyle, Grange.

  • 1918: James Healy, Teeling St., Ballymote.

Thomas Callaghan, John Murphy and Michael Ward will be named under Sligo Borough, John McSherry will be remembered under Ahamlish, John Muldoon and James Healy will be named for Ballymote, Felix Waters will be remembered under Grange and Thomas Mulligan will be named for Gurteen on the eight sentinel stones of the County Sligo Great War Memorial Garden.
