Today we remember those from Sligo who died on October 4th during the five years of the Great War 1914 - 1918.

  • 1917:   John Connolly, Fuaghts, Calry,  Sligo

  • 1917: Michael Gilgan, Armstrong’s Row Sligo & Stirling Scotland

  • 1917: John R. Higgins, Skreen Sligo

  •  1918: Patrick Hever (alias Maguire), Ballymote, Sligo 

  • 1918 Civilian: R.B. Morrison, Easkey & South Africa

John Connolly will be remembered under Calry with John Higgins named for Screen, R B Morrison remembered under Easkey, Patrick Hever named for Ballymote and Michael Gilgan named for Sligo Borough on the eight sentinel stones of the County Sligo Great War Memorial Garden.
